File corrupted after computer crashed when exporting PDF
Have not tried to reproduce bug.
Here are the events that happened before the crash: Export PDF, make 2 small edits, export PDF again, I was expecting the computer ask whether I want to replace the previous but the pop up never showed up as my computer froze and eventually restarted itself. I don't see many backup files in the back up folder, I have more than 10 musc files but there is only 3 in the backup folder.

If the computer freezes and restarts, that's an OS bug rather than an application bug, and should be reported your OS vendor (eg, MIcrosoft or Apple). Although realistic, OS crashes are common enough that without precise steps to reproduce the problem, there probably won't be much they can do either.
Backup files are only created when opening and resaving an existing file, so there wouldn't be any backup for scores that were created in one session and then not edited and saved again later. Also, note older versions of MuseScore didn't place backup files in a separate folder, they would be hidden files within the main folder.
Meanwhile, after the crash, the next time started MuseScore, it should have offered to restore your previous session, which would recover a separate "autosave" file. If you declined, you can still open the autosave file manually. See https://musescore.org/en/node/52116
Yet another case of #271185: Scores corrupted beyond repair, containing nothing but zeros
