Play button not working

• Sep 10, 2022 - 18:22

For windows 10. With the 3.6.2 version, 64-bit. I have tried with an older version of 3.0. I have tried with a 3.6.2 version but for 32-bit.
In all those version, the play button does not work.
In edit-Preference-I/O, JACK AUDIO SERVER is activated. If I activate Port/Audio, none of the API,DEVICE, MIDI INPUT, MIDI OUTPUT have any options.

I have unplugged and plugged again my usb-headset.
I have installed and uninstalled musescore several times.
I have reset all preferences to default.
I did a computer reset.
Yes, my usb headset has an uptodate driver as of May of this year. I can listen to music, youtube, games and all the usual funs. But not Muse score.

No, I did not yell insults at the program.

1) Cables are okay, so are the connectors. I have my headset that works fine and I can listen to all the stuff outside of Musescore.
2) Going to View > Synthesizer. Not an option. Synthesizer is greyed out and can not be selected, same for Mixer.
3) I have restored Musescore’s factory settings.
4) I have downloaded and installed two other soundfont, this does not change #2
5) Going to Edit > Preferences > I/O, that is indeed empty. My sound drivers are up to date.
    1) I have tried v2.3, the play button does work, however no sounds come out. Also, I had all my files in v3.
6) Going to Edit > Preferences > I/O, I do not have the button that says “Restart Audio and MIDI Devices”
7) I am using windows 10, the volume mixer does not have musescore. I have Speakers, System sounds and Mozilla firefox.
8) Not using a Mac
9) Here I am now.
    1) Musescore version 3.0 or latest.
    2) Using Windows 10 with whatever latest updates it has.
    3) Audio device : Logitech USB Headset ( driver version : 10.0.19041.1682)
    4) Audio device : AMD High definition audio device (driver version : 10.0.1.23)
    5) Audio device : AMD streaming audio device (driver version : 1.0.0.6)
    6) Audio device : Intel(R) Display Audio (driver version : 10.26.0.12)
    7) Audio device : Realtek Audio (driver version : 6.0.9273.1)
        1) Each of my audio devices I have clicked on “update driver” and none of them had an update to update. Yes, I did go through all the steps afterwards to verify if Musescore had playbutton = on. It didn’t.
    8) Going to Edit > Preferences > I/O, default state is :
        1) Jack audio Server,
        2) Use Jack audio,
        3) Use Jack MIDI,.
        4) Remember last connection

Don't unplug and plug in your headphones while MuseScore is running. In fact if you are on a laptop, don't use the headphones at all until sound is working. Use built in speakers. Disconnect everything not built in to the computer. Piano keyboards. Audio interfaces. And the like.
If you must use headphones, make sure they are connected before you start MuseScore.
You don't need to use jack.
Shut down your computer. Don't just restart it. After a few minutes, start the computer. Open MuseScore.

I've seen a few people have success after a few time through the cycle.

I've also seen some who had to reset their OS.
