changing 2nd verse to 2nd voice
I want to have a different rhythm in certain measures for the second verse.
Like this:
I entered both verses in voice one. When I try to select the second verse, it selects both verses.

No, you have not, at least "ing" and "the" are attached to voice 2 notes. Most probably the other 2 syllables too, judging on how they center to voice 2 notes

Sorry, that screen shot is from another program. I want to do something similar in Musescore. I cannot seem to select only the second verse though. I always get both verses no matter where I click. I think that is the first step and then I click 2 up where the voices are, right? I think I can probably find how to make notes smaller and opposite direction in the handbook, if I am lucky.

Not sure I understand. I clicked the second note, but I still cannot choose voice 2. I don't mind entering the whole second verse, but actually there is one measure that has one more note in the second verse where I need to somehow indicate a different rhythm. It just dawned on me I should do the rhythm first, no?

Yes, notes first.
