Note heads not showing in PDF export

• Dec 13, 2022 - 06:27

Hi, I think I messed up something when trying to fix an older Powerpoint in which music symbols were not rendered correctly by installing some additional fonts -- at least I think that is where my problem comes from, because after I did that, I started getting a problem exporting to PDF / printing. Currently, printed files look like shown in the uploaded image.

I have de-installed and re-installed the latest version of Musescore for Windows several times, but nothing has changed. Any tipps of what I need to do? Are there certain fonts I need to de-install and re-install?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ah, I found a workaround, which is OK for me, since I don't care much about the style: I went to Format > Style > Score and changed the font from MuseJazz to Gonville. Now things work again.

Still, I would be very grateful for an indication of where I can find the correct version of MuseJazz for installation!

Sorry, our comments crossed. So I should uninstall MuseJazz? I did that and then Musescore did not start any more, but maybe that was a different problem. So I will try with uninstalling MuseJazz once more, thank you for the clarification!

Generally speaking, you should install any of MuseScore internal fonts at all - MuseScore manages this itself. It's possible to download them from GitHub and install them to make them available to other programs, and if you do, MuseScore will use the installed version instead of its own. But it then becomes up to you to make sure you always have the correct version of the font installed. Unless you really need one of these fonts for some other purpose, best usually to not try installing any MuseScore internal fonts at all.
