Specifying the end dynamic of a hairpin that covers a single note
If I have a whole note, I can add a 'p' dynamic to it and then a < hairpin, and if the next note has an 'f' dynamic then it's obvious what the player (and playback) should do.
But how do I enter a whole note that should increase from 'p' at the start of the hairpin to 'f' at the end of the hairpin, and then have the next note be 'p' again. I.e. how do I enter a dynamic at the end of a hairpin but on the same note, and not rely on the dynamic of the next note?

Add invisible rests in another voice and anchor the dynamic and hairpin to that.
