Suggestion for the Percussion section

For some odd reason, I cannot input a note directly into the stave when using percussion (which I am used to) rather I have to type the correct key on the keyboard to place the notes, now I am not great at remembering the stave note names, I just remeber what each note sounds like rather than remebering the name of the note, so it has been quite a hassle writing percussion.
