Trying to swap a Muse Basic sound for a VST3 plugin on MuseScore 4.0.0 release (Windows) seems to crash MuseScore when it tries to load the VST3 plugin.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Load the attached .mscz on MuseScore 4.0.0 on Windows 10 (22H2, patched up to date)
  2. Open the mixer
  3. Change the Sound setting on the mixer's Piano fader to VST3 -> (any VST) (I've tried it with Steinberg's The Grand 3 and VSL's Vienna Synchon Pianos plugins, for example)
  4. Wait a while
  5. Application will crash without fail on my system

The .mscz attached is just a sample, it doesn't require this exact .mscz to crash the system.

Also, I have managed /sometimes/ to get VST3 plugin loading to work by loading Dexed VST3 plugin (which is quite a small plugin), then switching to a different one, e.g. BBC Symphony Orchestra. However The Grand 3 still crashes even via this route, as does Vienna Synchron Pianos, so whatever's happening may be dependent on the VST.

Same problem. Using MuseScore 4.1.0 with the latest version of MacOS. Grand 3 started all the problems. I got rid of that VST, but MuseScore still thinks it's there. Uninstalling does nothing. There must be "helpful" files somewhere that make re-installing easier. I wish I could get rid of them and start fresh.
