Musescore 4 duplicating

• Dec 24, 2022 - 00:10

I've previously been using Musescore 3.6 and was pretty happy with it. Aside from a few design choices that M4 improved, I'd thought it was a nice easy way to write music. So when M4 released, of course I downloaded MuseHub (which is another thing that bothers me, why doesn't it ask for any permissions?) and installed M4. However, when I was moving scores from 3.6 to 4, my computer (mac) opened up a new instance of m4 for each score I brought to M4. I didn't try anything nifty to accomplish this, I simply clicked "Open other" and when you do that M4 takes you directly to finder where your older scores should be but when you select the file, M4 opens up a new window for that. Is this intentional? Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it.

If I remember correctly, you can download MuseScore without MuseHub in the download page if you search for the option. Also yeah, I think that they mentioned on the "Important Differences Between MuseScore 3 & MuseScore 4" video on their channel that the decision to have a window for each score is something intentional for now.
