sound not working?

Hello, I have been using MuseScore for quite a while now and am also enjoying MuseScore 4. However whenever I plug my headphones into my laptop, the sound does not play through them, but instead just out of the laptop speakers still. When I plug them in, the laptop acknowledges them asking if I plugged in headphones to which I respond 'ok' to. The headphones do work on all other platforms I have tried such as youtube and tiktok, but there always seems to be an issue with MuseScore. I was wondering if there was any specific settings I need to enable? Thanks.
