How do I unlink and remove the tab staff from the instrument part
I have opened and saved a music file with one instrument. That instrument has a linked tablature staff displayed. I would like to remove the tab staff without removing the part to which it is linked. If this involves hiding the staff, the purpose is to condense the printout by removing the unneeded tab staff. If this is already in the help instructions, then I am having difficulty understanding and following the instructions.

If I understand your question correctly, you can go to Edit > Instruments, the click on the Tablature staff, then click Remove from Score button. Try this by first making a copy of your file to see if this is what you want.

This appears to be no longer true. As of version 4 there is no Instruments item under the Edit menu.
