Deleting measures after inserting text frames?

Hey.

I'm having some trouble with being completely unable to delete measures after adding text frames into my score. I've attached a picture of a page I'm working on, where I'm unable to remove the last four measures at the bottom of the page, despite none of the frames being attached to it. I'm a little stuck.

I tested it, but even if I add more bars and make sure they are on a new line, I cannot delete them. Not with ctrl+del, not with 'delete measures', not with any of that. I've had to restart the score from scratch several times. Additionally, I'd like to be able to reduce the height of the horizontal frames that make the middle staff line narrower, so that more text can fit below them easily.

...The actual content is being worked on, so don't worry about that too much, It's very much quickly prototyped.
