Size of second part
I'm writing something for flute an violin, and would like for the violin player, to see the flute and vice versa. And that problem was easy to solve. Now I'm wondering, if there's a way to just make on part smaller, so it isn't distracting for the second player - if there isn't, that's also alright, it would just be a nice little touch.

The note heads? The entire staff?

I would guess the entire staff. The way to do that is to right click on the staff and in staff/part properties tick "Small stave".
