Interpreting poor copy with suspected engraving error

• Feb 13, 2023 - 21:49

In bar 5 of the upper Acc. staff there appears to be a slur from the B to the next bar's whole C. This looks wrong to this (very) struggling music reader. Am I correct in interpreting this slur ought to be a tie from the dotted whole note C in bar 5 to the whole note C in bar 6? Even then it looks messy.

How can anybody sight read this? My admiration for accompanists!

I'd read it the same way as you - a tie from the C in b5 to b6. A little bit tricky to do and have it look elegant given the cramped space (arguably there are 4 voices on the stave at this point) but here basically an engraving error, as it's very unclear.
