VST Plugin Questions

New here, hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

I just removed a number of AU/VST plugins from my Mac, but they are still showing up in MuseScore as selectable. They don't work because they are no longer present, but they are still in the list.

How can I convince MuseScore to remove them from the list?

Also, I have so many plugins by so many developers that the list of developers is taller than the screen, but it does not let me scroll. I can't get to the option to remove a plugin from the mixer, for example. Am I missing some way to handle that?

MuseScore 4.0.1

On Windows locate %LOCALAPPDATA%\MuseScore\MuseScore4\vst which seems to hold a json metadata file for each vst it found. Try removing the relevant json file from there and see if that helps

I'm not using Windows.

Looks like the corresponding directory on the Mac is ~/Library/Application Support/MuseScore/MuseScore4/vst for anyone else who might bump into this.

That does indeed remove those plugins from the list, and temporarily resolves (for me) the other problem, which is that the plugin list was extending past the top of the screen, making it impossible to remove a plugin from the slot:

Should that one be a bug report?

The only reason this second problem cleared up for me is that I removed all of the plugins from one developer so the list is one entry shorter; as soon as I install plugins from some new developer that problem will likely return.
