How to change tempo
I didn't change the default tempo of quarter-note = 120 and playback is way too fast. I can't figure out how to slow it down (I haven't added any tempo to my score, it's just the default) How do I change this, please? I've hunted through the handbook but all I can find is how to change a written tempo marking, or how to set the tempo when first setting up the score, but not how to change it later. Thanks in advance.

Since you didn't add a tempo marking to your score, neither MuseScore nor a person reading it will understand how fast you want them to play. Solution is simple - add a tempo marking, from the Tempo palette, or the Add menu, or the shortcut Alt+Shift+T. Hi - thank you for your explanation. Somehow I thought it was a matter of changing a default tempo marking (I figured I'd experiment later with tempi, when I first set up the score), rather than just adding it. I appreciate your help.
