Thank you! Just wondering if musescore is considering expanding these instruments' playable range later on.

If you look at the bottom of that Github thread you will see that the issue has been given priority P0 - the highest, and has been added to the To Do list for Muse Sounds. That seems to carry a strong implication that extending the range is certainly being considered. However, as Muse Sound development is closed source, the inner workings of development are not exposed through generally visible Pull Requests as is the case with the open source Musescore program. We can only wait and see. In the meantime, the basic sounds still work over the full range.
