Musescore 4 starts and crashes after 2 seconds

• Mar 13, 2023 - 20:47

Hi experts
I was working with Musescore 3.6 and it did fine. As I updated on Musescore 4 the troubles began, though I uninstalled version 3.6 first.
Some remarks:
- System: HP Laptop, i7-6600U CPU, Windows 10, 64-BIT, newest version with all updates.
- Unfortunately, my CPU is not compatible with Windows 11, but anyway...
- The Windows event display shows an error with kernelbase.dll, interestingly in folder "Windows\System32".
Perhaps someone can help me.
Thank you very much
Andreas

3.6 and MU4 can be installed at the same time. They are different software.
You don't need W11.
I would delete what ever MU4 thing you downloaded. Then go to the download page and check the specs you need to run the new version. Then make sure you are downloading the MuseHub. Let it install MU4 and all the sounds. Takes about an hour. Worth it.
