Score crashing when using a vst plugin (Musescore 4)

In a recent Musescore 4 project, I inserted a VST plugin (Varispeed), forgetting that Musescore can be a bit buggy with it, but saved it before it loaded.
The score instantly crashed, and now since I saved it, Musescore crashes whenever I try to open the project.
Just wondering whether it's possible to externally remove this VST from the score, or otherwise redeem the project.
