first try with musescore =)

1. Delete the 8va lines you have. They are messed up.
2. Drag and drop a new 8va line onto the score.
3. Extend the ends of the lines using the Shift+arrow key method described in the handbook rather than the mouse

On the lines page of the handbook read the "Change length" section.
