Pause for breath

I downloaded this score from MuseScore and opened it in MuseScore4. (Big thank you and congratulations to the person who made it) A breath mark (comma) is drawn at the end of bar 196. I clicked on playback under the Properties tab where it said Pause time 0.6s. I found that decreasing and increasing the value there had no effect on the length of pause during playback. I deleted the breath mark. Now playback hiccups during bar 197 and the playback cursor is out of position for the rest of the piece.
Of course I can take as much notice of the comma as I like when reading the score on the organ but I just wonder what is going on.
