Musescore 4 Stem length (and detaching from beams)

I'm trying to reproduce sections of a 1920s book. The scores are ugly to save space but I have to keep my scores similar in size.

I'd like to be able to reduce the default stem length. Not seeing this option, I select all stems (with click shift-click) and reduce them in properties to. It reduces the stem lengths, but doesn't move the beams accordingly detaching the stems from the beams. Thus I have to individually select the stems of non-beamed notes only.

I know this is not standard, but would it be possible to have a user defined stem size under notes styles.
