Musescore 4 Help

• May 8, 2023 - 16:34

I've just started using MuseScore 4 and I can't seem to figure out how to delete a score. None of them are saved in the iCloud. I've tried looking in the online handbook and other forums. They all seem to say "click on the 3 dotted icon and select the delete this score option." That option doesn't come up on any of the vertical and horizontal icons I click on. Any help is greatly appreciated.

"None of them are saved in the iCloud."

To be clear, when you use File > Save as... > Save to the cloud your score is saved as a private score on musescore.com.

So to access the score and delete it, you need to follow these steps:
1. Log into your account on musescore.com
2. From the dropdown arrow beside your profile picture (top right) choose "My scores"
3. Search for your target score by title (or a word in the title) using the Search box
4. When you see your score listed, click the score title to open just that score
5. Top-right beside the score title you will now see the "3 dots" icon, and clicking on the icon provides a menu which includes as the final option Delete this score:

I'm having all the same questions you asked in this thread. I find it hard to get a straight answer. When I go to my Home page to start a new score, all the scores I made previously are there. Some of them were false starts and I want to delete them. I don't see any three dot option on this page. I have no scores saved on line. So it souynds like you have to save the false start scores on line first, then delete them?

I never was able to find a way to clear any of the false starts, ones I began and decided to trash that is, without clearing out everything. Nor was I able to find that 3 dot option. So I just gave up for now at least and try not to clear out unless I have to.

The simple answer to this is: The score files showing on your Musescore home page cannot be deleted from that page. If you go into your computer to where they are saved you can delete them from there, they will not appear on your Musescore homepage. So if your scores are saved in a folder-go to that folder and delete them from there.

"So what I'm wanting to do is delete some scores I've started from my home page"

Perhaps you mean the list of "Recent scores" which you can call up from the MS4 notation editor with File > Open recent?
You should be able to clear out that list with File > Open recent > Clear recent files - it's the last item on the list, after the horizontal separator.

Got it. I found those steps, but I'm only needing to clear out a select few, not all of them. I can't seem to find a way to delete a few scores I started so I can start over fresh on them. Basically, it's as soon as I open the MS4 app and all scores recently worked on appear. Three out of 7 I need deleted.

The simple answer to this is: The score files showing on your Musescore home page cannot be deleted from that page.
