LAYOUT AND/OR PARTS SETTINGS NOT SAVED

• May 14, 2023 - 18:04

Hello there ! First topic from me, I am a very happy Musescore user. I have experienced something strange on this 4.0.2 version :
On a score containing Piano and 3 vocal staves, I experienced this :
- After saving, the parts I created (Piano/vocal 1 - Piano/vocal 2...) were not saved. Only the full score. I had to create a new file and copy paste the notes. Then created again my parts, and every worked fine.
- After saving, parts are saved but layout details not... i.e. the postion of page numbers, header and footers... Back to original position after reloading the file...
Anyone experienced this ?
Thank you !!
Vincent

Sorry to hear you are having trouble! I'ts not clear what you mean, though. In order for someone to investigate, we would need you to attach your score and give precise steps to reproduce the problem.

Note that page numbers and other header/footer elements are not movable, so if you tried dragging them or otherwise moving them manually, it's a bug that it even appeared to work. Page numbers are generated automatically and positioned according to your page and style settings.

Hello Marc

Thank you so much for your answer.
I don't have the pisibilityto send you screenshots at the moment, but I'll try to explain better (sorry for my frenchy English) :
I have a score with 4 parts per system : piano, vocals 1, 2 and 3.
I create a new part where I choose to display piano + vocal 1
I have to tie the layout on this new part : I click on a page number, look to the right on the "appearance" section and move the page number with the x and y axis numbers.
Same with header and footer
I rename this part "Piano - Vocal"
I save.
I quit Musescore
I launch Musescore
I load the score
The part "piano-vocal" list his name and is back to it's default name (don't remember what it was)
The header, footer, page numbers are back to default position....

Hope it is clear ;-)

Thank you !!!!

Yes, it is clear, so it is as I said - it is a bug that you were able to select the page number or header or footer at all. They are not supposed to be selectable, and this bug is fixed already for 4.1. If you wish you change the position of these elements, use the settings I mentioned - don't attempt to move them manually.
