Unable to open file in the new 4.1 update

• Jul 12, 2023 - 18:52

Dear all,
first, I want to thank the developers for the gigantic work. I can really see this entire project flourishing under my sight, and the efforts you put in tracking all the issues and the best proposals coming from the community is just unimaginable.
...I only have a problem: with the specific file I share here (unfortunaltey it is 5.4 MB, so I share it via GDrive https://drive.google.com/file/d/14YJj-7SkFBOkY1IkSXEoq0sVHyaIwOdv/view?…), the software tries to open it, but it only gets to load the backgrounds of the UI, and then crashes (without letting out any error message at all).
I thought that maybe this topic might be helpful also for other users, that's why I ask you if you have and advice for tracking the cause of the loading failure.
Thank you in advance!

The size seems to stem from a large image attached to the score, and that also seems to be somehow connected to the crash. Please open an issue on GitHub - https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues - to report this there. Rename the score to end in ".zip" instead of ".mscz" to attach it there. And then also, you will be able to open it in a ZIP editor either remove the large image file, or extract just the score itself (the ".mscx" file) and then it will open normally.

Dear all, I apologise for not updating my issue. The Github community worked on it and by evening time it was solved. This is just incredible. Thank you all for the amazing work baking MuseScore.
