Musescore Files deleted after starting to use iCloud Drive

• Jul 13, 2023 - 03:09

Hey guys!

So I've just gone onto Musescore, and a bunch of my scores have disappeared. Every score I've made and saved online through the Musescore site instead of on my computer.

Yesterday, I also started using iCloud Drive and saved a lot of files onto this. These sound and should be unrelated, as the missing files are not in my iCloud Drive and were never saved there, but I feel like they must be related, because I don't know why this would happen?

I've looked everywhere; every pocket of my iCloud Drive, on my Musescore profile, in random old folders. I don't know where they've gone, I was working on one of these scores just yesterday.

Please help!

iCloud is an Apple file storage feature, nothing to do with MuseScore.

"Save to the Cloud" is a MuseScore menu option which saves your score on a musescore.com cloud server. Have you looked in https://musescore.com/my-scores ?

iCloud is not the same as "Save to the Cloud". Look carefully at the MuseScore Save options - nowhere does it say iCloud:

Thanks, I am aware of the difference; it's why I specified that I don't know why my use of iCloud seems to have impacted unrelated files.

What this post is about is Musescore files that I've saved to the cloud - the Musescore cloud server - suddenly disappearing now that I've begun using iCloud for general files on my device. The only reason I mentioned iCloud is because it's the only change made to my device around the time my Musescore files disappeared.

The files are not under my scores, in the Musescore application, or anywhere on my device and I'm not sure why.
