Playback not going to Headphones?

Musescore 3.6.2
MacOS Ventura 13.4.1, Mac Studio M2, Mac Studio Display

Playback sounds only on the Mac Studio Display. Plugged in headphones, I have set in Musescore->Preferences->I/O->Device->External HeadPhones. I have tested the headphones with other apps, iTunes, YouTube, etc no issues.

Also have tested using MacBook Pro Monterey 12.6.7 without issues using Musescore 3.6.2 with headphones.

I'm assuming this has to do with the Mac Studio M2?

thanks

Hi everyone, I rebooted and seems to be fine now,

This is a new setup with the new Mac stdio display and Mac Studio M2.

Seems to work bit differently... so sorry for the posting.
thanks

So the problem is not rebooting the mac. The issue is museScore not recognizing the change automatically when plugging in headphones. Musescore->Preferences->I/O->Device lists the output options to elect. All the option to select are correctly listed. But, Just by selecting your option and applying does not have any effect at all. You need to quit and re-launch museScore. Then all is good.

All apps i have tested have the ability to choose an options and automatically switches to that option.. no rebooting or re-launching is needed.

If you change audio devices while MU4 is running, MU4 will not recognize the new device. Yes, other programs will recognize a new device. I have no idea if this will ever change. But the thing to remember is that you need to have everything plugged in before you start MU4.
