Where are the sounds from the hub

• Jul 27, 2023 - 01:23

I downloaded choir and strings from the hub.
I don't see them in Musescore.
Are they supposed to be a part of the application?
Thanks.

Looks like you closed the part of the mixer that shows you the sounds. Click the "..." menu at the top right of the mixer, go to View, and re-check "Sound". Then the box that allows you to select sounds will show again.

Also, be aware that after downloading new sounds, you need to restart MuseScore before they show up in that box.

Once you've installed these sounds, they will be used for the choir and string instruments automatically - you won't have to do anything special. At most, for scores you created before downloading them, you'll need to go to View / Playback setup, and select the Muse Sounds profile there.

but as noted elsewhere, you do need to restart MuseScore after downloading new sounds. And if you do wish to see the sounds listed in the Mixer, you'll need to restore the Sound control you previous disabled.

When you say you ”checked of choir”, what do you mean? If you are saying that within Muse Hub you clicked the Muse Choir, this downloaded and installed the sounds so they are available to use. But indeed, you still need to actually create scores and add choral parts to it - the sopranos, altos, tenors, and basses from the instrument list, or one of the choral templates. If you hadn’t downloaded Muse Choir, the score creation would still work exactly the same way - MuseScore would just the “basic” sounds instead.
