Musescore 4 Wallpapers do not save

I set up my chosen appearance for the app (under edit - preferences - appearance) and chose some of the default paper and backround textures. I also chose a font, accent color, and theme.

It works until I exit musescore (as in close the app) and reopen it. Everything except the wallpaper textures have been saved, but the paper texture reverts to default white, and the backround changes from 'texture' to 'color', usually making it some random color that happened to be selected in the preferences.

The image also shows that once I reopen MS, the score is plain white, no textures, but the instrument names (which appear when you scroll horizontally) are a different color.

To replicate:
Open a score.
Edit - Preferences - Appearance
Choose a wallpaper backround and paper texture (one of the defaults)
save score..?
Close musescore
open MS
Check.
