How to change clef without changing notes

• Aug 22, 2023 - 11:48

Attached is my music

I'm trying to make the top staff a treble clef. If the notes stayed in the same position it would be correct.

I already saw this discussion, but unfortunately, it did not help me. https://musescore.org/en/node/312697

I have a Mac.

When I change the clef, the notes adjust. When I try to move them back to the correct place, by highlighting and then using the arrow keys, the first note will be correct, but notes later in the measures will not be correct. I'm not sure why.

Thanks,

You have probably accidentally written notes in a bass clef where they actually belong in a treble clef. This, of course, results in a wrong pitch.

Unfortunately, just shifting with the arrow keys won't help, because musically the notes will be at the wrong pitch, and the semitone steps will cause accidentals to appear between E and F, for example.

What you can do in this case is to move them with Alt-Shift and the arrow key. Nevertheless you have to check carefully - like here e.g. in measure 3 the B note - if local accidentals are wrong.
