No playback MuseScore 4.x
MuseScore 3.x plays back scores fine on my Linux PC.
MuseScore 4.x doesn't. There are no devices listed in the I/O preferences section.
Any idea where to start looking to get it to work?
I've tried
MuseScore-3.6.2.548021370-x86_64.AppImage -- works
MuseScore-4.0.2.230651545-x86_64.AppImage -- doesn't work
MuseScore-4.1.0.231921359-x86_64.AppImage -- doesn't work
MuseScore-4.1.1.232071203-x86_64.AppImage -- doesn't work

Is there anything in the drop down devices window where it says default? I know you said there isn't, just wondering

No, like I said, there's nothing in there. Nothing to select
I think it might be something to do with the OS' change from Pule audio to PipeWire sound server in Ubuntu 22.10. Maybe it's not recognised in MuseScore yet. I'm going to try setting up Pulse and see if that helps any
