Screeching note noises

I wanted to get back into making music, so I loaded up Musescore, it's fully up to date, but whenever I play a note it makes a high-pitched noise that sort of fades in and out, kinda like rapid high-frequency beeping. Anyway, it makes it so any song I create sounds completely wrong, the notes are too high and it does that weird rapid ringing thing, I tried factory resetting and that didn't work, and my computer audio works just fine with other software, is anyone else having the same issue or knows how to fix it?
