MS 4 on Linux Mint: audio export not working

Hi,
just switched from 3.6 to 4.1.1. Up to now everything seems to work nicely, but audio exporting. No matter which format I choose (mp3, wav,...), the progress window opens but does not change within half an hour as does the file size ("0"). Any hint where to search for log files?
