Constantly suffering through the never-ending-circle of death.

My software will freeze for about a minute, This happens all the time. In several instances, I've had to just give up and work on something else while Musescore cogitates. And this is on simple stuff: two-part vocal with piano accompaniment. Any wisdom to share?
