Can't add lyrics when placed above the notes

I am writing an arrangement for choir. I would like the mens' lyrics to be placed above the bass clef. But when I use the inspector to move the lyrics above the bass clef, it won't let my type anymore. If I move the lyrics back down below the bass clef, I am able to type them again. I really want them to be placed above the bass clef.

This problem began at m16. I went ahead and kept them lyrics down below, but I would prefer them to be above. I am currently stuck at m.25.
