Cannot run Muse Hub, cannot install musescore 4.1.1

• Oct 25, 2023 - 19:17

I had a version of MuseHub and Musescore (4.0.1) installed on my computer and it was running just fine the last time I used it. I went to use it today and it loaded the splash screen and crashed. I searched online and read somewhere to install the latest version. I tried that, but it said that I had to install it on a local hard drive. All I have are solid state drives, the same as the last version was installed on. I uninstalled the previous version and tried again. Same error. I tried to install using MuseHub, I could not get MuseHub to open. I uninstalled MuseHub, and tried to reinstall. MuseHub installs, but appears to start up and immediately crash just like Musescore. I am now without Musescore.

Your SSD drives are your local drives. Everything needs to be on the same one.

I'm having a little trouble following what happened.
Reinstall seldom fixes anything. If you have uninstalled, shut down your computer completely. Wait. Then reboot. Then install MuseScore by itself. Get it running. Complete shut down and reboot, again. Then reinstall the HUB.

The professional approach for troubleshooting anything is to try to understand what is going on.
First step: read what is in the logfiles:
%localappdata%\MuseScore\MuseScore4\logs (supposing you are on Windows)
