replace old Musescore3 version (with MIDI problem)
Dear all,
I connected an USB MIDI Keyboard to input notes in Musescore3, but all the dropdowns to choose MIDI devices are empty. It is an older laptop and there's musescore 3.6.2 on (the "about" says so)
Using a newer device with more recent OS and Musescore4 works well.
I have seen some threads that there was a faulty musescore version out there like mentioned here:

So I thought replacing my version with a corrected, but which one? I was confused because teh older versions offered at the download page go up to 3.2.3 "only"..?
So where does this 3.6.2. came from (I don't remember) and is there a more recent 3.X.X version?
Or in general, which one of the 3.X.X. versions should I use for replacement and get rid of the error?

#279203: MIDI Input / Output doesn't work had been fixed in 3.0.1 already.
3.6.2 is the latest and last official 3.x, but you could also try my 3.7

3.6.2 at https://musescore.org/en/download#Older-and-unsupported-versions, except for Linux, for some stupid reason, but those (and all others) from GitHub, https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/tag/v3.6.2 or https://ftp.osuosl.org/pub/musescore-nightlies/linux/3x/stable/
My 3.7 from GitHub as well, https://github.com/Jojo-Schmitz/MuseScore/actions, topmost 3.x for your platform, then under Artifacts download for your architecture. I don't recall any MIDI related fixes in it though.

Sorry I can't find how to download an AppImage? for 3.7 there...

It is there. Currently https://github.com/Jojo-Schmitz/MuseScore/suites/17908782808/artifacts/… but this is a moving target

it runs on Ubuntu22, but I get frequently Messages, that it's not responding (about every 5 sec lasting for 2 sec., then disappearing / reacting again). But also there the Dropdowns in "PortAudio" are empty.
I would switch to Musescore4, this works, but there I can't use Jack for MIDI Input, can I?

Correction: your 3.7.0 works fine when started with -w, it is the problem discussed here:
