Ignore crescendo/diminuendo in playback

Is there any way to disable the crescendo/dimuendo hairpins? It doesn’t sound natural in playback, but I don’t want to remove them. If not, is there a workaround?

Hairpins don't work in MS4 without dynamics at the end, anyway. If you are using a solo 1 voice, they kind of do what they want anyway.

If you look in the Symbols section of the Master Palette, you will find symbols for cresc. and dim.. These symbols do not affect playback at all.

But the disadvantage is of these symbols is that the length of the symbols cannot be adjusted in the same way as the cresc. and dim. elements on the Lines palette and the Dynamics palette.

It would seem that you can't make playback ignore hairpins.

I just ran a bunch of tests. I created a melody and added some hairpins. then played it with several different instruments. With some instruments, the hairpins chanced the volume a little bit. With others, no change at all. Cresc. and hairpins from the Master palette affect playback exactly like ones from within the software. And you can indeed lengthen the cresc. line in both.
Hairpins in notation software work best if a dynamic is placed at the end of them. Without them, it can be hit or miss. That is why I asked for a sample score. So that we might be able to find a way to help you.
