Ability to adjust and/or turn off automatic playback portamento effects
When playing back using sounds such as solo or section violins, unmarked portamentos are added into the playback which are stylistically incorrect and unnecessary. Having a way to turn these off or adjust them would make the playback of the pieces more accurate. The portamentos are especially heavy handed and distracting when tempi above Andante are used.

I have seen advice on these forums to use Violin 2 (solo) for a single instrument and Violins 2 for a violin section. The Violin 1 versions are reckoned to be more "expressive", which to my ear involves more "swooping around" and a more mannered performance. Not great..
Out of interest I have created three versions of an extract from a string quintet:
a) using the old MS Basic soundfont for all instruments
b) using Muse Strings for each solo instrument, but using Violin 1 (solo) for both violin parts
c) using Muse Strings for each solo instrument, but using Violin 2 (solo) for both violin parts
What do other people think?
