Changing instrument from voice to bass without changing notes

I converted a PDF of a bass sheet to a musescore sheet, which was accurate. However, it automatically placed the instrument used as voice. I want to change it to a bass tab, but every time I click change instrument, it changes the key and makes it very high.
I can't find any tutorials on MuseScore4

Well, a note, e.g. D5 in treble clef is an F3 in bass clef if it is to be the same line.
So you have to take several steps:

  1. apply the bass clef
  2. select all notes and move everything down by one octave using Ctrl+down arrow key
  3. then transpose the selected notes diatonically down by a sixth.
