Accidentals only apply to the note they directly precede
As the subject already explains, I do not want my accidentals to last longer than a single note. I am aware that this is not even possible in Sibelius (and I don't know about Finale), but was wondering if it can be done in Musescore 4. Engraving works well unless I change the octave of the note I added and there was for instance already an Eb in the same octave. Then the b I added, just disappears, causing errors.

Apply a natural to the notes with same pitch later in the measure.
Make invisible, if you want to confuse the musicians

Actually this now causes me an issue, because it forces me to use a natural sign I cannot hide / delete.

Basic music theory says accidentals apply over the whole bar, you've decided to go against this ?

Basic music theory is based on the scores of composers. And already in the 1950s many essential composers decided to apply accidentals only to the notes they directly precede.

But you know, I am writing a video art score. So this is really one of the minor issues that are unconventional in this piece :))
