Musescore App

• Feb 2, 2024 - 17:32

I'm so disappointed. The reason I subscribed to Musescore on my PC was to be able to download and change the key of pieces. It appears that I would be better using the mobile app to do this however it appears to be an additional cost! Am I missing something?

Concerning "download"...
Your subscription is to musescore.com:
https://help.musescore.com/hc/en-us/articles/210257565-What-is-MuseScor…
It entitles you to download sheet music from the musescore.com sheet-music-sharing website. As a paid subscriber, you are not limited to public domain music, as copyright holders are compensated from subscription fees collected at .com.

Concerning "change the key of pieces"...
The sheet music found on musescore.com was created with the free score-writing software available here:
https://musescore.org/en/download
Sheet music can be downloaded from musescore.com to be opened in the MuseScore desktop notation software where it can be played and edited - even changing the key as you wish. Starting in 2024, the software will be called "MuseScore Studio":

The website you are currently at is musescore.org. It is here where you can seek help for any problems you may encounter with "MuseScore Studio":

(The mobile apps are handled over at .com, not here.)

Thank you for replying so quickly! Your response was really helpful and have managed to skip the subscribe page on the mobile app and now have access HOWEVER......I am currently trying to download "Snap Out of It " Arctic Monkeys and it says..."this score is provided to us directly by the copyright holder. Under the contract terms, we can only demonstrate it within the Musescore website ot Musescore iOS/Android Applications. As a result, I can neither change the key nor download to print - which is kinda why I took out a subscription. It is doing the same with "All These Things That I've Done" by The Killers. Any workarounds?

The Desktop MuseScore Editor for WIndows, macOS and Linux (soon to be renamed to MuseScore Studio) is very well able to transpose.
AFAIK the mobile apps (for iOS and Android) are not, or just in a very restricted way, furthermore they (currently/still) can't read Mu4 scores
