Unexpected quit when USB headset is unplugged

• Feb 21, 2024 - 21:37

Hi -

Here's my setup right now.
MuseScore 4.2.1
System: MSI GE76 Raider 11UE
Windows 11
Headset: HyperX Cloud Alpha S
KVM switch with a USB port that the headset is plugged into

If my headset gets unplugged from its USB port, MuseScore crashes.
When I start MuseScore back up, I get a message window that says "The previous session quit unexpectedly."

I use the KVM switch a lot to switch between computers, which effectively unplugs it from my MuseScore system and plugs it back in when I switch back to that computer. But MuseScore crashes even when the headset is plugged directly into a USB port on that computer and then unplugged.

Any idea how to prevent this from happening?

Yes. Don't make changes to your audio device while MuseScore is running. Make sure your headphones are plugged or unplugged before starting MuseScore. Sorry. That's the way it is. I know other audio software doesn't have a problem. Notation software isn't like other audio software.
