I want chord symbol playback for things like piano and guitar but definitely not for Bass.

I'm not sure why anyone would want chord symbol playback for something like a bass, but I need chord symbols in the chart and can seem to only turn all chord symbols off or on. Can I turn chord symbol playback off for a specific instrument?

You can switch off playback for every chord symbol individually via its properties.
You can mute the chord symbos channel of an instrument too in the mixer
