Lyrics no longer automatically drawing hyphens and sustain lines

• Mar 10, 2024 - 19:03

For a few weeks now (not sure exactly how long as I've only recently been working on arrangements with lyrics again), MuseScore 4 (MacBook Pro M1 Pro - Mac OS Ventura) has not been drawing sustain lines when pressing the space bar, and any hyphenated words where there are more than one notes on one syllable.

This used to be automatic. Now, I have to painstakingly place each line manually.

Is this a known bug? Is there a fix in the works? Please address, as this is obviously crucial for any vocal composition/arranging.

AFAIK no version of MuseScore has ever drawn sustain lines (melismas) with Spacebar. On my Windows laptop the key combination for a melisma is Shift+Underscore.

Spacebar simply moves to the next note (without any hyphen or melisma), ready for input of the next separate lyric word (or the first syllable of a new word).
