recording an MP3
How can I record to MP3 only PART of a piece eg first ten bars of a tenor voice part. ? It seems that with my [free]version of Musescore 4 I can only record to MP3 all of a part, unless I delete all the unwanted bars first ?

You can't record anything with Musescore. You can however export a score as an mp3 and indeed that is always the complete score.
You could record the audio output from Musescore using a software recorder - Audacity for example. You can start and stop playback wherever you want and record that.
You can save a selection, then open and export that to MP3
