Remove indent
I can't remove the indent at the beginning of my piece. I've unchecked the box as I would on 3.6 Musescore, but here nothing happens. I've tried resetting the indent to 0 in the value box but that didn't work either. I have just updated from 3.6 and am beginning to wish I hadn't. My template is for solo voice and I am trying to create an exercise sheet so the indent is just a nuisance.

Which box have you unchecked. It should be the one labelled Enable indentation on first system found in Format>Style>Score. See https://musescore.org/en/handbook/4/score-size-and-spacing and scroll down somewhat.
Be sure to click the Apply or OK button before closing the style dialogue.
If that doesn't help, come back and attach your score (.mscz file) so that someone can check the settings in use.

Thanks for your reply. The problem was that no check box for OK or APPLY was visible on the page. ENTER had no effect either so I've had to resort to uninstalling Musescore 4 and going back to 3, which works fine.

The Return or Enter key should have done the trick. Or reducing the scaling of your graphics driver

You can resize that dialog though and then move it up so you can see and reach the buttons at its bottom
