Musescore falsely captures ALT-key after OS-shortcut

• Apr 6, 2024 - 21:15

I use Linux (Mint) where CTRL + ALT + → switches to another desktop. Not sure what happens on other operating systems, but when I use this shortcut to return the desktop with Musescore (CTRL + ALT + ←) and release the keys in the wrong order, Musescore thinks I pressed the ALT-key and highlights the "File"-option on the top left.
This bothers me because it removes focus from the notes I was working on and stops the flow. It happens 20+ times a session when doing a lot of desktop-switching.

  1. I'd love to hear if people can reproduce this, either with Linux or another OS (see steps below)
  2. I'd like to ask for a fix to this issue. Any Ideas what could be causing this bug?

Steps to reproduce the bug (on Linux!):

  1. Open Musescore
  2. Press and hold CTRL, then ALT, then tap to switch to the next desktop. (Press CTRL first, ALT second!)
  3. On the new desktop, release keys
  4. Press and hold CTRL + ALT, then tap to return to the original desktop and Musescore
  5. Release CTRL and ALT
  6. See bug: The "File"-option on the top left gets highlighted

Environment:

OS: KDE Flatpak runtime,
Arch.: x86_64,
MuseScore version (64-bit): 4.2.1-,
revision: github-musescore-musescore-
