About MuseScore 4.3.0 ugly sound from its internal Mixer.

• May 26, 2024 - 02:28

It is my humble opinion that this problem is about excessive gain per channel BEFORE channel preamplifier.
If we compare the final sound from MuseScore 3.6.2 with 4.3.0, using the same SoundFont file and the same score, we can easily note that there is a massive gain, rude and excessive brilliant attack of any instrument in any channel.
In the real world, analog or digital mixers have a "GAIN" knob to control the audio level BEFORE the first preamplifier of each channel. It is absolutely necessary because there is not two audio sources with the exactly same Sound Pressure Level (SPL) and the electrical voltage final product. So, we have to control it before the preamplifier, to avoid any saturation.
Well, the MuseScore 4.3.0 shows this anomaly.
I'm not a programmer. I don't have any clue about C++. So I cannot help with the code.
But, I guess this "bug" should be change in some part of the Mixer section code.
So, PLEASE,modify this, PLEASE!!!

Blessings and Greetings from Chile!!!
