Every note pitched and Tempo artificially higher

Despite what I change the tempo to on my songs every note is much higher pitch, and the tempo is unfathomably fast, this is applying to new scores I attempt to write and concerningly to old scores that worked fine previously. It's impossible to write any music like this. Does anyone know why this is happening or how to fix it?
