How do I hold out a note with other notes playing at the same time on guitar?
I want to have a three-note chord build up slowly on a guitar. Basically, I'm looking for a way to replicate a piano's sustain pedal.
I got it to sound nice by using ties (see attached image), but I was hoping to learn of a way that looks cleaner.
The "Pedal" line doesn't seem to work on guitars, and the "let ring" line makes it sound very loud. Using multiple voices would create too much visual clutter.

You can tie across a "space".
In your example you can leave out the B on beat 2 (I assume this is bass clef) and tie from the B on beat 1 direct to the B on beat 3.

Sounds like you want realistic Let Ring playback from MuseScore. You can achieve that in MuseScore 3.7 and 3.6 with the TAB Ring plugin.
